We are Slsy®, a company dedicated to making the outdoors more accessible. Our passion is creating high-quality folding cots and adult tricycles that provide comfort and mobility for nature lovers of all ages.
Our Story
The seed that grew into Slsy® was planted in 2015 when founder John Smith took his elderly father on a camping trip. John’s father had limited mobility but loved the outdoors. He struggled to get comfortable in a standard camping cot and lacked the balance for long hikes.
John was determined to find a way for his dad to keep enjoying nature. He started tinkering in his garage, designing cots with higher weights limits and adjustable positions. After prototyping various frames, legs, and fabrics, John developed a cot that provided cushioning, lumbar support, and easy access for those with mobility challenges.
When John shared his creation with family and friends, the response was overwhelming. Everyone wanted their own cot for camping trips and guests with back pain raved about the comfortable sleep it provided.
John realized the potential market for accessible outdoor gear. He recruited engineers and designers to join him in founding Slsy®. Our team spent two years perfecting and testing products before launching in 2018.
The name Slsy® comes from John’s father’s nickname, “Pops.” Spelled backwards, it’s a reminder of the reason we started this business. We want to help “pops” and people of all ages enjoy the great outdoors.

John Smith, Founder and CEO
John’s garage tinkering grew into a complete career change. He loves hearing from happy customers who are camping comfortably or cruising neighborhood trails thanks to Slsy® gear. When he’s not running the business, you can find John hiking, fishing, or traveling in his Slsy® tent!
Amanda Chen, Lead Engineer
Amanda oversees Slsy’s product design and testing. She ensures our cots and trikes meet rigorous safety standards while providing maximum comfort. Amanda is constantly sketching new innovations to improve accessibility. Her favorite way to unwind is tackling challenging mountain bike trails on her Slsy® fat tire tricycle.
Tyler Jones, Operations Manager
Detail-oriented Tyler keeps our warehouse running smoothly and delivers products on time. He takes pride in efficient processes that minimize waste and overhead. Tyler unwinds by car camping with his wife and kids using Slsy® cots. He especially loves our adjustable lounge cot after long days managing logistics.

Creative marketer Jenny builds our brand and connects with customers online and at trade shows. She’s always finding new opportunities to spread the word about Slsy® gear and mission. Jenny enjoys riding our single speed beach cruiser tricycle near her coastal hometown.
